A selection of these projects is promoted in the FEE Donation shop. For each donation the customer receives a digital certificate. These certificates are not unique and do not represent real value. The donations received are directly directed to the project involved. If the received project funds exceed the project budget, the exceeding funds can be used for other projects. A maximum of 20% of all received funds is used for internal costs.
As FEE is an Organisation working for promoting environmental education for sustainable development, we have decided to establish a general compensation of CO2 emission. The funding derived from CO2 compensation will be entered into a CO2 Fund administrated by the International Learning about Forests (LEAF) Coordination.
The price of one ton of CO2 is around 12.60 Euro in EU (source: EU Allowance EUA).
An average airplane produce around 0.18 ton CO2 per 1000 km for travels less
than 1000 km , and 0.11 ton CO2 per 1000 km for travels longer than 1000 km
(source: UNEP 2000, the GHG-Indicator). Remember to double the cost if you are having a return flight.
If you are not satisfied with the purchase of your donation product, CO2 offset of any other product offered in the FEE donation shop, please contact the FEE Shop manager .
