10 000 Indigenous Slovenian Fruit Trees
Planting Indigenous fruit trees throught Eco-schools and Eco kindergartens on the 1st Spring Day
€99.00
On the first Spring day (March 21st) we wish to be able to plant indigenous fruit trees amongst schools and Kindergartens of the Eco-schools network.
This activity will contribute to slow down the climate change trends and also will contribute to increase healthy food habits in the schools and in the kindergardens.
In meantime, a direct daily relationship with nature will be developed by the children.
The initial numbers of trees to achieve will be 10 000, but we wish to plant as many trees as the fund will allow.
Within a holistic approach to nature and daily life we would establish a link between interdisciplinary knowledge and Education for Sustainable Development.
Our main aim is to spread environmental awareness to our students’ homes and to reach each member of the local community.
We wish to plant Slovenian indigenous plant, such as: autochtonous apples, pears, plumbs, haselnuts, walnuts, raspberries, blueberies, modlars, kaki (gold apples), grapes, figs, oil trees, mulberry trees, and ecc.
Slovenia has a very good climate for agriculture, which makes possible different planting schemes, such as: kaki and figs in one and apples and plums in others.
All indigenous trees are well adapted to the soil, to the climate and do not need additional intensive chemical treatment.
